Executive Transition Coaching
Essential to minimise the risk inherent in a new appointment
What is Executive Transition Coaching?
My interpretation of executive coaching is to work beside an individual where we learn together about how you can do your job to the best of your ability.
I aim to do this by combining grace with grit, always being on your side but never colluding with you to avoid being honest, and enabling you to hold yourself accountable for your words and actions.
How does it work?
I work with the people who are sponsoring the coaching and the individual over a period of six months to help everyone make a success of this crucial time. The focus to start with is on arriving well and then shifts to helping the new leader to
make their mark in a way that allows them to be true to themselves and is culturally appropriate. Usually face to face we meet up to 10 times, in locations that facilitate reflective thinking.
Who is it for?
This is specifically for senior leaders newly appointed to their positions. For external appointments this helps with understanding and interpreting the cultural values, the team dynamics, the expectations of the business and how best to adapt leadership style.
For internal appointments, particularly promotions to the Board, this helps with rethinking your perspective and contribution.
You challenged me to do things better, there were some moments that were completely revelatory.Lawyer – Magic circle firm
Take stock of where you are as a team and explore the dynamics to discover your motivation and commitment to working productively together. I will help you agree how to hold yourselves accountable to each other.
Pausing even for an hour can have huge benefits. It can help you see the wood for the trees, put things back into perspective, bookend the week, build in a rhythm, help you re:set, see things afresh. For you, and definitely for the benefit of others around you.
